Salam, shalom, hello and welcome to MITHST.ORG, the Mithst homepage for monotheism. We are liberal Western Muslims who firmly believe in Islam's original meaning of submission to GOD and the scriptures - not to Muhammad, not to Hadith or ritual, not to mullahs or sheiks, imams or ayatollahs, clergy or judges, clans or tribes, Sunni or Shia, Arabs or culture but loving submission to GOD alone for Allahu mahabbah: GOD is love. True submission we base on Sura 2:136, and hold to the tradition of GOD's revelation from Moses to Jesus to Muhammad. Mithst do not believe the revelations of GOD have finished or ever will.
The Mithst tariqat (or "way") is based on the four corners that [1] there is only one GOD, the Lord GOD of Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac; [2] GOD is not limited to or constrained by either scripture, time, religion or man; [3] all which supports GOD is permissible and all that denies GOD one must choose to deny; [4] the Tanakh, Qur’an and the Christian Bible are our scripture. We believe every canon whether Jewish, Christian or Muslim cannot help but be influenced - and tarnished - to some degree by its human scribes whether in grammar, oral tradition, writings, meaning, interpretation or just plain blatant manipulation and support a healthy scepticism towards scripture. We believe a blanket, literal translation of scripture or the relevancy of all scripture today as being incorrect. Thank you for visiting, mashallah. [RSS]
